Leaving my blog from the last post, Tommy, Theo and I headed out to sample some of the local bars/clubs in Hobart Indiana - it was Monday so I was not expecting a lot but Tommy's & Theo's knowledge of where to go soon had us mingling with the locals. The drinks flowed but sadly it was the bartender ushering us all to leave at 3.30am that brought us all back to reality - I was heading on a 4 hour flight to San Diego in 7 hours. Sleep Deprivation is becoming my new bff.
Waking at around 8am, I headed downstairs to the Active Sign Co office to find Tom completing the 2 signs ordered by the Mayor of Gary Indiana (home of MJ). The mayor had requested these two signs be placed out the front of the former Jackson home....?
After saying goodbye to the family, Tommy and I headed for Midway airport in Tommy's convertible Mustang which was quite cool, top down music playing louder than the speakers will allow we arrived right on time I checked my luggage and was promptly told my flight was delayed - oh well.
Finally touching down in San Diego at around 6pm local time I noticed my "energised" cousin Barbra arms raised and with a devilish smile I'm sure I will see more often over the next 5 days. Packing the two overloaded bags into her car, I was given a "vitamin" with a 520ml can of coconut water - under the instruction "it will cleanse your body" - she has obviously been reading my blog...
The 15 minute drive to Coronado Island is quite pleasant, heading over the bay bridge into Coronado I was excited.... however listening to firstly Eminem's "Stan" mixed with Punjabi music & Vanilla Ice's "Rollin in my 5.0" as loud as possible & windows down - driving down the main street of the very exclusive Coronado took the cake.
Barbra's parent's Jim & Linda had kindly prepared quite a feast including the traditional shrimp (prawn) on the BBQ. I was famished so it was really nice to sit, eat and chat with them all once again reminiscing about the family reunion as well as discussing the places they may wish to take me.
At around 9pm, Barbra and I walked the 10 minutes along the beach to Hotel Del a beautiful historic building overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We met up with several of her local friends for a drink - we were a little late for the 10 for $10 wine tasting but there is always tomorrow!
We all left Hotel Del and walked into the main street of Coronado and headed for the local Irish bar - Mc P's, grabbed a table and sat down to continue our evening - it was well passed 1am before Barbra and I started the walk home - early I know, but Barbra was taking me to the 90 minute "Torture Chamber" known as Bikram Yoga at 9am so we/I had to be ready.
For those of you that may not have experienced Bikram Yoga or Yoga in general (like me) - Bikram is a form of Yoga that is practiced under intense heat - circa 43-45 degrees Celsius (105 - 110). You are so delirious and fighting just to stay conscious that you forget you are the only guy in the room with 20+ beautiful women stretching and bending....
I am converted....
It's now pushing 12 noon so I'll be having a quiet bite to eat and then we are all heading off to the Bodyworld exhibition then out again with Barbra tonight to see some more of San Diego's nightlife.
Update Soon.
James.

I was never a big fan of yoga...but, I can see it's possibilities now.
